About this place
This reserve within urban San Diego is home to the Torrey pine, described by State Parks as the nation's rarest pine tree, and to one of the last salt marshes and waterfowl refuges in Southern California. Hikers can follow trails through wind-sculpted pines past high broken cliffs and deep ravines overlooking the ocean, and visit a pueblo-style visitor centre built in 1923.
